The Management Board of KRIB congratulates the new governing political formation GERB and the people's representatives from the 41st National Assembly for the quick and successful formation of a government of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The quick formation of a reformist government with clear support and freedom of action is one of the important prerequisites for preserving financial stability in the country and for supporting Bulgarian business in the conditions of a deepening economic crisis.
KRIB supports the Program Declaration of the government and we are particularly satisfied with the fact that it includes the principles of the Stability Pact signed by KRIB and political party GERB before the elections. This gives us confidence that the commitments made to preserve financial stability will be met and in response we are ready to create additional capacity to provide the necessary assistance to the Government in the sectors where it is requested.
As a leading organization of Bulgarian entrepreneurs and employers and together with our social partners, KRIB is ready to support efforts and provide full support in finding effective mechanisms to limit the growth of unemployment, support the financial sector and ease companies' access to bank credit . We consider all measures to reduce administrative barriers for business, the rapid recovery of VAT, limiting illegal imports and the abuse of excise goods, which are killing Bulgarian producers, to be a priority.
The Bulgarian economy must not only survive the crisis. It must take advantage of the situation, restructure itself, become more efficient and find new, sustainable sources of economic growth. In this effort, partnering with business to formulate the right priorities and long-term strategy is crucial.
The categorical vote of the Bulgarian voters shows the need for a moral change in the relations and partnership between business and politics based on zero tolerance for corruption and a clear distinction between the rights and responsibilities of the parties. Only in this way will we restore the trust of Bulgaria's external partners and return the economy and society to European and Atlantic values and restore Bulgaria's access to the instruments of European solidarity - European funds.
In a situation of severe crisis, when resources are severely limited, the state must win the support and trust of the legitimate and honorable business in Bulgaria and be uncompromising towards the criminal business. The line between business and criminal business must be drawn very clearly and categorically.
The criminal business is an accomplice of the corrupt part of the political elite in creating the bad image that Bulgaria has in the world. Therefore, KRIB is ready to provide full support and be part of the effort to enforce this morality, so that there is a sense of justice in Bulgarian society. Instead of political-economic circles of predetermined monopolists and party favorites - "consultants", there should be fair competition based on clear rules, working institutions and the rule of law.
