Today, July 23, 2015, the four nationally representative employers' organizations discussed the development of the shock increase proposed by the KEVR to the "obligation to society" supplement (ZkO) in the price of electricity and found that the actions taken to stop this decision on the part of the business did not have led to a satisfactory result, despite the commitment of the government and the National Assembly.
This week we witnessed shameful scenes in the Bulgarian parliament. We have seen how certain MPs defend interests for new investments in RES from biomass, despite billion deficits for preferential producers and fulfilled commitments for renewable energy until 2020! Moreover, our protests were used to maintain the deficits!
The final changes in ZE and in ZEVI were greatly reduced and, as a result, the double increase in the price of ZkO will be maintained. The regulation to reduce RES burdens will be delayed until it is notified by the EC, and even then it will only partially relieve large enterprises. Keeping the size of all the other components that make up the proposed size of the TP, the final price will remain unbearably high. Last but not least, these changes are again made in conditions of non-compliance with the legal requirement to assess the impact of the normative acts, before their adoption.
In this regard, the nationally representative employers' organizations remind that commitments were made by the executive and legislative authorities on the following main requests:
- Maintaining the current price of the "obligation to society" supplement until the full disclosure of the reserves in the electricity industry and the reasons for the accumulated deficits;
- Immediate adoption of a road map for restructuring the sector and reforms to remove all factors that lead to inefficient governance;
- In-depth discussion of the results of legislative changes, as well as the results of revealed violations and reduced costs in the sector, and their reflection in determining the new price supplements for business users.
Bulgarian business cannot bear the high cost of electricity, as a result of KEVR's decision to increase supplements. We do not want to stop production, lose our competitiveness, which we have achieved as a result of huge investments and hard work. That is why we are ready for protests and protection of our interests. These are the interests of the Bulgarian industry, of the entire economy of Bulgaria, regardless of the size of the enterprises.
We do not accept the proposed new prices for "obligations to society", because they will lead to losses for the Bulgarian society!
We invite Bulgarian business to immediately undertake a new national protest on July 29, 2015, at 11.00:XNUMX a.m.! But this time in a way that he can be tangibly heard by those in power.
