KRIB welcomes the opinion that non-food retail chains should continue to operate

In connection with a meeting held today by the Minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov and the Chief Health Inspector Assoc. Angel Kunchev with representatives of non-food retail chains and DIY stores (many of which are members of KRIB) and the subsequent press conference, the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria - KRIB states that it welcomes the opinion that the trade sector, with the exception of malls, should continue to operate under increased control and strict compliance with anti-epidemic measures.

Already on November 24 of this year KRIB sent a letter to the Minister of Economy, Lachezar Borisov, in which he declared his position that non-food retail chains and DIY stores should continue to operate. The management of KRIB defended this position in the interest of its members and in a number of consultations with representatives of the government and the National Operational Headquarters held in recent days.

KRIB also welcomes the commitment made by the representatives of the non-food trade chains to ensure strict compliance with all anti-epidemic measures to protect the life and health of their customers. Both they and KRIB will rely on the cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs authorities to maintain order in those areas in front of the shops where there may be gatherings of waiting customers.
