Since 2007, it has become a practice for Bulgargaz to offer an increase in the price of natural gas by more than 30% every quarter. As a result of the request, DKEVR determined a price increase of between 4% and 12% every quarter. For the next quarter, the scenario repeats itself. This time, the drastic increase is scheduled for October 1, with Bulgargaz demanding an increase significantly above 30%.
KRIB, KNSB, KT Podkrepa and BTPP are asking the following questions to the State Environmental Protection Agency: "Is this market price determination or administrative? Is there really a market mechanism? Why is the cheapening of oil not reflected in the price of gas since market quotations are taken according to the accepted methodology of fuel oil? Shouldn't the methodology be updated?". At the same time, it is quite reasonable to ask why not a reduction in the price of natural gas, perhaps exactly by this 30%?
Bulgarian business and trade unions are not against the market economy and the market setting of prices, including natural gas. In this case, however, the prices of incoming gas from Gazprom, the costs of Bulgargaz and the overall methodology for the formation of the final price for Bulgarian consumers are kept a deep secret.
The answers to these questions cannot be delayed, and the representatives of the employers and the trade unions insist, above all, that the state in the person of the government, because the SEWRC is a state, not a private commission, to provide these answers.
KRIB, KNSB, KT Podkrepa and BTPP turn to the Ministry of Economy and Energy and SKEVR with an urgent request for a meeting and a broad discussion on the problem, because only through dialogue, not administration, can a compromise be found.
On this occasion, KRIB, KNSB, KT Podkrepa and BTPP request an urgent convening of the National Council for tripartite cooperation before the final decision is taken by the SEWRC.
