In connection with the recent daily media attacks against private companies in the energy sector in Bulgaria, the Board of Directors of KRIB is forced to once again state the repeatedly stated, principled positions of the Confederation regarding the business climate in the country and the conditions for normal economic activity, namely:
1. Commercial disputes between commercial companies are resolved through negotiations or in court, not in the media.
2. The obligations of state companies should be treated in the same way as the obligations of private companies. In this sense, the obligations of the state NEK are no different from the obligations of the electricity supply companies and there should be no discriminatory treatment.
3. According to the law, the State Environmental Protection Agency is an independent body and should work in this way in practice. KRIB insists that the Oresharski cabinet and the parties supporting it in the National Assembly fulfill their promises for enhanced civil control over the DKEVR. In this sense, KRIB insists on the inclusion of representatives of the nationally representative employers' organizations in the composition of the Commission, following the example of NOI and NHOK.
For this reason, the request of the Bulgarian Federation of Industrial Energy Consumers - BFIEK for greater institutional sustainability in the "energy" sector, reflected in an official application to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy and Energy, receives the full support of KRIB.
4. Already in the first days of the formation of the cabinet, Oresharski KRIB warned that the methodology for determining the price of electricity is deeply flawed and will lead to its sharp increase, as well as to the inevitable bankruptcy of NEK, and proposed a concrete plan to avoid this scenario. However, NEK is currently in a state of de facto bankruptcy, and the price of electricity will soon reach an all-time high. We are concerned that these processes will lead to the collapse of the Bulgarian economy!
In order to avoid such a catastrophic scenario for the Bulgarian economy, KRIB insists on the urgent preparation of an anti-crisis plan, which, through short-term and long-term measures, takes into account the interests of all interested parties and, above all, the interests of the Bulgarian industry.
KRIB is ready to actively participate in the development of this plan and provide all the expertise at its disposal.
