On the occasion of the announced impending withdrawal of Bulgaria's accreditation for emissions trading under the Kyoto Protocol, the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria states that this is a forecast that KRIB made already 2 and a half years ago. Unfortunately, the Minister of Environment and Water at the time did not want to take the actions we recommended.
This logically led to the preliminary decision announced on May 13, 2010 by the Implementing Authority to the Committee on the Fulfillment of the Parties' Obligations under the Kyoto Protocol, according to which Bulgaria's National System for the Assessment of Greenhouse Gas Emissions does not meet the requirements.
